Google could claim that it is, in fact, an arm or subsidiary of the Democratic Party. No one can forget how in 2016, after Trump's election, Google founder Sergey Brin sobbed in a company meeting, lamenting Hillary’s defeat and kind of promising that it would never happen again.
Since then, Google’s bias has been documented and condemned by everyone who isn’t a Democrat. This bias has even crept into silly images created by Google Gemini, including one imagining that America’s founding fathers were of various ethnicities
Accuracy seems lost on Google ever since Hillary lost. The latest example is its new product, NotebookLM, which uses AI to help people organize notes and papers. Yet it cannot help but introduce bullcrap into those notes and papers: information you neither included nor desired.
This is made worse by its summations and a faux discussion by two AI generated voices who create a fake podcast called the “Deep Dive.” There are endless examples of people pushing content into NotebookLM and then ridiculing the results, which are generally laughable but almost always slanted left.
I created an example of this by writing a short, neutral essay by a supposed professor, Seymour Butts. Here’s what I submitted:
Reading this short essay takes 21 seconds and there is nothing much to it, nor is it slanted towards Trump or Harris. Assuming that the idea of NotebookLM is to organize your notes with respect, you'd think it would remain objective. You'd be wrong.
The summary of the short note came back this way
This was not an accurate depiction, since it was not designed to be funny. And who told the system that Seymour Butts was a fictional character?
Now here is the AI generated “podcast:”
While the essay took 21 seconds to read, the AI-generated podcast ran for almost five minutes -- with all sorts of ancillary editorializing slanted against Trump, calling him out for using “dog-whistle” coded language. Where did this come from? It wasn't provided by me. Am I to assume that my “notes” are going to be subjected to an unwanted rewrite by a pre-programmed AI that is doing the bidding of the Democratic Party, at the behest of Google?
This is not acceptable. And it is shameful and abusive. It's time for legislation.—JCD
